What is PVC?
In the Plastics domain - Poly Vinyl Chloride is one of the world's oldest plastics. More than 60% of the PVC resin produced in the world, today is used in building construction & related industries. PVC has many inherent characteristics like Ease of shaping, Durability and good mechanical strength. PVC is also the most versatile plastic on the market today -- primarily because it’s the only polymer always mixed with other ingredients before being formed into a product.
What is Polypropylene?
Polypropylene (PP) is a member of the polyolefin family of plastics also known as thermoplastics. It is highly versatile due to a combination of factors like excellent chemical / heat resistance, a good balance of mechanical properties, a very favorable strength-to-weight ratio and low taste and odor characteristics. PP also has the ability to carry light loads for long periods over wide temperature ranges is one of the properties that make polypropylenes valuable in engineering applications.
What is ABS?
ABS or Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is a common thermoplastic polymer typically used for injection molding applications. ABS is popular due to its low production cost and easiness to machine. The chief characteristics of ABS are – High Impact Resistance; High Structural Strength, Excellent Chemical Resistance, Excellent High and Low Temperature Performance, Great Electrical Insulation Properties and Easy to Paint and Glue.

NOSING SPACERS & ISOLATORS
In order to improve the thermal performance of the Curtain Wall, most of the Aluminium Systems use Plastic Nosing Spacers & “H” Isolators which have very low thermal Conductivity. KASTRADE has a wide range of these Nosing Spacers & Isolators to fit any Aluminium System. The size of the Spacers are from 4 mm to 45 mm with different ‘nose’ structures.
THERMAL BREAK INSULATORS
Plastics (PVC, ABS or PP) are used as Insulators that are placed in aluminium system to improve thermal insulation. Aluminium in itself is not a good thermal insulator at all. The solution lies in positioning a thermal barrier. This thermal barrier consists of a Profile or a Strip of plastic that has excellent insulating properties.
